Firearms law amendment?

I am a part-time producer / engineer, I have a garage full of various pieces of equipment such as lathes, CNC milling machines, etc. I am a very enthusiastic shooter, and have a collection of AR type rifles that I take great joy in the modification of several pieces of parts and accessories. So my question is this: In addition to complete all conversions of cars, or shortening extreme barrel, is it legal for my machine and create my own pieces / updates to my AR type rifles? Or need some level of FFL for that? (My main concern is losing my firearms to a legal error stupid, trying to save money and be creative!) Thanks.

You should check the laws of your state in addition to everything I say because, well, vary. I'm sure you're aware that the only part of a firearm that is legally considered as such at the federal level are the parts that are serial numbered. As So I think we'd be in hot water to play with the pieces numbered. But as for mag release or refine their own power ramps, milling shoes activation, you should be more than good. Not paying attention to the conversation about the renewal of the ban on assault weapons, though, as they do hiding illegal things like flash. Or you can simply play it safe and make them thread of its parts. Not that I can understand why someone needs a muzzle anyway …
