Magnetic problem here in the armature winding.?
I have a Honda 6500 watt generator with a burnt armature. I shall be forced to retreat. This poses no problem because I have a big oriented around again. The problem is that the winding overheats so badly that merged togather. I had to cut it so he could not count the turns, however, only part burned. The other side is in good shape, so I have a good reference for the settlement. I have to determine the number of coats on the settlement and do not want to relax on the bright side for a recount. Is it possible to measure the resistance on the right side and wrap the other side until I get the same amount? I have to induce a known voltage on the right side and check otherwise? What is the easiest way to determine the number unrolled correctly turns the undamaged side? Sure I could use some help on this!
Another way you could try, which eliminate the error magnetic coupling through the armor is this (you'll have to get a meter that measures inductance – Radio Shack has these): First, the wind a round number of laps in the side that is rewinding (W1). Now measure the inductance on the good side (I2), and face only the wound (I1). The relationship of the two inductors is exactly the square of the ratio of the two coils. So, in order to find the total number of laps you need, use the following formula for finding weight (number of turns required): Weight = (? (I2 / I1)) x W1 When finished, compare the inductances of the coils only to verify.
