Which would be better on clay or plaster horsehair plaster walls?
I have the horsehair plaster walls. They are in very good shape, however, I a wall here or there that need to be patched. It feels like the plaster has fallen from around a wall. It is the best way to repair it with plaster or clay. I heard of a new American clay product. I wondered if I could use it.
Hi, you might need two materials. If you can find the old style of plaster of Paris, not going to say no Shink. This is ideal to put in weak sections that are pulling the ribbon. loose things really have to be eliminated but can be forced some plaster of Paris in the opening so that affects the area around the cast will pull against the bar. To fill the openings that I prefer to get a bag of Thin Set. If you come in drying times of 30 minutes, 45 min. 90 min or less. Mix only what you can also be used within that time frame. Thin-dried quickly, but it dries hard. For small areas of normal weight spackle, right out of the container is good (do not use the lightweight material) Spackle does a good job is easy to use, although not as strong as thin.
