I just got a lathe. I used one before in my school store, but never need to buy a plate for him. And, do not really know much at all. I looked online and I found one for about $ 35, but I'm not sure if I should buy it. It is said that is a 6 "4-jaw Independent Chuck, and said it includes an adapter plate. Nor is silent on a key (I saw some one included). I need an adapter? Or a key? Does it fit my even around? I'm a little lost.
Lathe wood or metal lathe? What brand? What is the axis and in its surrounding? Measure the diameter of the shaft and if there are issues and passing them. Examine closely and examine the plate around for any information about it. Currently I'm setting a hobby around I needed an engine and a complete rework to be usable. A real education, because it was basically a set of rails and some holders of a pulley tool transmission and Chuck and a tail. It will take some looking to put it into use. If I remember correctly, a 4-jaw chuck need a key and move each jaw separately. Hope this helps.
